What CigarFlux does and does not do

CigarFlux compares the price of the exact cigar in the exact package across sellers, and shows which shops near you say they carry it. It does not sell tobacco.

What CigarFlux does

Format-strict comparison

Every price belongs to one exact package: the container, the cigars inside it, and how many of those make up the outer package. A 20-count pack and a 10 × 20 carton are separate markets, compared separately. Two listings are never merged because they share a brand and a flavor.

A product price is not a delivered price. Shipping is shown per seller where the seller publishes it, and wholesale or login-only pricing never enters a retail comparison.

Watchlists and stock listings

You add a product to your watchlist; a store lists what it stocks. When the two meet near your ZIP, you get one notice with the store name and cross streets. Both stay on until they are turned off.

“Found it” and “Out of stock” reports keep listings honest: repeated reports that a product is missing flag the listing and tell the store.

Privacy

  • You give a ZIP code, never a precise location.
  • Retailers see local demand only as a total, and only once at least 3 people are counted.
  • A watch is never attributed to an identifiable person.

What CigarFlux does not do

It does not sell, and it does not invent

  • No checkout, reservations, delivery or order processing. CigarFlux does not sell tobacco.
  • No purchase counts. CigarFlux has no transaction data, so it never says people bought something.
  • No invented specifications, dimensions or availability. A detail no source confirmed is left out.
  • No paid placement. A seller cannot buy a better position or push a competitor down.
  • No collecting from a source until its access and terms have been reviewed.

Responsible use and age

  • CigarFlux is for adults 21 and over. The retailers and prices shown are United States retailers, and every visitor passes an age check first.
  • The age check keeps only the fact that it was passed. The birth year you enter is used in the moment and never stored.
  • An account represents that you are 21 or older. An account found to belong to someone younger is deleted.
  • Nothing here is a health claim or a recommendation to use tobacco. Cigars are not a safe alternative to cigarettes.
  • No rewards for smoking, and no marketing to anyone under 21.

How it works: reading a CigarFlux listing

Pick the package you actually want, then compare only the prices for that package.

Product names

Old names and color names find the same product. Different flavors stay separate products.

Package options

Each option shows the container and how many cigars you get. A package no seller lists right now stays on the page as “No current offer”.

Availability near you

  • Confirmed by retailer: the store says it carries the product.
  • Confirmed by shoppers: someone recently found it there.
  • Worth calling ahead: the last confirmation is old enough to check first.
  • Reported out of stock: recent shoppers could not find it.

Help keep it current

After visiting a store, report whether you found the product. Signed-in shoppers can suggest a correction from any product page.

Data methodology

CigarFlux identifies exact products and package formats, keeps the retailer evidence behind them, and keeps online offers separate from local stock claims. Compensation never decides an order.

Product identity

Brand, product, flavor, container, the cigars inside and the outer count must all resolve before an offer publishes. Anything ambiguous goes to review.

Price

Low, high and spread are computed only inside one exact package. Unknown shipping is never shown as free. Wholesale and login-only prices stay out of retail ranges.

Availability confidence

Retailer verification, how recently a listing was confirmed, shopper finds and conflicting out-of-stock reports all move confidence. Paid relationships do not.

Local demand privacy

Retailers see area demand only as a total, only above the minimum audience, and never an individual watch or a precise location.
